From Recipes to Kitchen Math

Frugal Organic Mama started in 2013 with a simple mission: help families eat organic without going broke.

The Legacy (2013-2023)

For over a decade, this site shared stories about urban chicken farming, CSA boxes, and the struggle of raising three girls while trying to avoid processed dinosaur nuggets. Suzanne Williamson founded this space with a philosophy that was simple but powerful:

"Being frugal is about saving money where you can, so that you can afford the things you really care about."

— Suzanne Williamson, Founder (2013)

Her most famous recipe, the Tropical Kale Smoothie, was featured on Parade.com and became a staple in thousands of kitchens. It proved you could eat organic greens for under $1.50 per serving.

The Evolution (2025)

Today, we continue that mission with a new focus: Technology. We realized that the biggest cause of food waste isn't bad recipes—it's bad math.

📉 Why Kitchen Math Matters

  • Guessing the salt ratio = Moldy pickles & wasted veggies.
  • Guessing defrost time = Rubber chicken (or frozen centers).
  • Wrong cleaning ratios = Ineffective cleaning or damaged surfaces.

We rebuilt Frugal Organic Mama to be the home of the Smart Kitchen Toolkit. We build simple, privacy-focused calculators to help you cook with precision.
